Exploration History and Geology

Previous exploration in the 1980’s confirmed the presence of the Walloon Coal Measures. Coal intersections were reported in a number of bore-holes. Two bore-holes intersected coal at relatively shallow depths and were interpreted as the lowermost seams of the Taroom Coal Measures of the Walloon Sub-group. Previous exploration has been insufficient to accurately define the Walloon Coal Measures cropline.
